Yesterday I drove to Italy to photograph a waterfall called Fontanone Barman that's near the village of Lischiazze, Province Udine, but because we have had massive rainfalls in the past days, there was too much water to get to the waterfall.

I don't know many things that I enjoy more than a sunrise on top of a mountain ... maybe a sunrise on top of a mountain without any other people who I don't know might be one of these things ;)

There's a side valley to the Soča Valley in Slovenia where the Mlinarica River flows and where you can find the lovely Mlinarica Waterfall.

I've been a couple times to the Dolomites and have never had perfect weather conditions when hiking around the Tre Cime di Lavaredo - the Three Peaks. At least in my eyes I have either had boring postcard weather or the weather was too bad to take photos. Maybe it's just me, or maybe I should start looking at the weather forecast and then decide whether to make this 3-4 hour trip to Italy or not.

What do you do when the light at the waterfall is too bright and too harsh to take photos of it? Right, you look for something else, and I found some really interesting patterns of lichen on the rocks beneath the waterfall.
