Over the past few years, I’ve noticed something funny: my camera backpack keeps getting heavier. Or at least, that’s how it feels. In truth, it’s probably weighed about the same all along — it’s just that as I get older, it seems to pull a bit more on the shoulders.

A few weeks ago, I set out once again for the Italian Dolomites. My plan was simple: park my VW Caddy at the Passo di Giau, hike up to Laghetto di Baste, pitch my tent, and photograph the Perseid meteor shower.

The Šunikov vodni gaj | Šunik Water Grove is a real water paradise. A circular path leads past many small waterfalls and green-blue pools created by the Šunik stream.
