In the first two days of the new year 2025 I have found a new sunrise spot near home and another spot that's about 2.5 hours away showed me Winter Wonderland and at least a bit of the mountain that I never have seen in my last 4 visits.
On January 1st, 2025, I actually wanted to drive home, because at the sunrise spot near home that I visited was no fog and the view was not as I had hoped. Also, we don't have much snow yet and so I decided to drive back home, but on another road that I haven't driven before.
And this was a good idea because suddenly when I drove out of a forest, I saw the whole vally laying in front of me and there was fog all around and this fog was golden from the morning sun ... awesome.
I quickly stopped, drove backwards and found a little spot to park beside the narrow road. My luck wasn't over then, because only a couple of steps away there was a vantage point on a hill in a farm field where I could place my tripod and take photos, photos, and photos...
On January 2nd, 2025, I got up at 4am to drive about 2.5 hours to a photo spot where I haven't been lucky yet. There is a river lined with trees and a beautiful mountain in the background. Whenever I visited this spot, I have never seen the mountain, but this day I was lucky, because it was a really beautiful Winter Wonderland and the mountain showed be it's peak at least a little bit behind the clouds.
Nevertheless, the morning sun was awesome and painted the fog and the clouds beautifully and I think that this little bit of mountain that you can see looks even better than if it would have clearly been visible.
It was freezing cold, but I was happy to finally get a few useable photos of a view that I've been looking forward to see for quite a long time.
I hope that 2025 keeps on showing me Mother Nature's beauty as it has done in the first few days.
