Autumn in Spring

Spring takes it's time this year and last weekend it looked as if it was Autumn already.

It's foggy Autumn in the southern hemisphere and fresh green Spring here in the north, so I thought, but a misty sunrise proved me wrong, and I didn't mind at all 😉

After the snow had gone, it looked as if Winter was definitely over and so I'm eagerly waiting for the Spring to arrive, but it seems that the green Season takes it's time this year. On Saturday morning I even thought that I had slept a few months and it was Autumn already.

After some cold and rainy days it was a dry and almost cloudless morning. So, because of the lack of clouds I wasn't expecting too much from my morning walk at the reservoir, but this place has surprised me quite a few times in the past years, and so it did on Saturday morning.

When I got to the bridge over the reservoir I saw some mist on the water, and crossing the bridge revealed a misty white horizon in the east to me. I know I said "horizon" but it actually isn't a horizon, as you can see in the photos. The reservoir is elongated and makes a curve, where for me is the horizon. Both banks of the reservoir appear to come together and there is a small wooded island in the foreground. Behind this island, where the two sides of the reservoir seem to touch each other, there's an open space and in Autumn it's often beautiful misty there.

I was late and after parking the car I rushed to my favourite spot where I take most of my photos during morning walks. In my hurry I even forgot my small video camera in the car and so I couldn't take a timelapse video, what certainly would have looked awesome, but there will be another misty morning and then I will not forget it, I am sure 😀

Some of my favourite images were taken at this reservoir on the very same spot under similar weather conditions ... I love misty mornings at any time of the year, and I prefer the Blue Hour, the time before the sun actually rises. This is why most of my images are a bit dark, maybe sometimes too dark.

I have been there again on Sunday morning, but after a sunny Saturday there was no mist like the day before, of course, only a thin white strip crossed the lake before the little island.
